2008 Vancouver, Washington tornado
The 2008 Vancouver, WA, tornado occurred in the city of Vancouver, Washington on January 10, 2008.[2] The NWS rated this rare storm an EF1 (wind speeds of 90–110 mph).[3]

Meteorological history
    
A rapidly advancing cold front generated a severe thunderstorm through Clark County, Washington.[3] The National Weather Service briefly posted a tornado warning.[4] A tornado then developed near Vancouver Lake, moved east into Hazel Dell then to Hockinson in multiple touchdowns.[3] The damage corridor extend on 10.11 mi (16.3 km) in length by in 440 yd (402.3 m) in width.[3] The storm was a rare event in the Pacific Northwest.[4]
The tornado was immediately accompanied by several funnel clouds, and an advisory issued stated that more funnel clouds were possible.[5] A funnel cloud was seen to the south of the tornado in Gresham, Oregon.[5]
Impact
    

Damage reports showed widespread downed power lines, malfunctioning traffic lights, and roofing that had been ripped off.[2] The majority of the damage was light in nature.[6] More than 200 trees, with diameters ranging from 12 to more than 36 inches, were damaged.[3] A semi trailer was tipped over.[3]
Vancouver Lake Crew's facilities on the east shore of Vancouver Lake were demolished in the storm with several dozen sculling boats damaged.[3]
At least 126,000 customers had lost power because of the storm.[7]
