History

Medieval fortress of Gračanica is located on the forest covered 319 meters high hill above the village.[1] The fortress was constructed between XIII and XIV century.[1] In XVI century it was conquered by the Ottoman forces. Traces of two other fortress without historical data on their usage are also visible in the hills around the village.[1]
In 1849 local Roman Catholic chapel was erected while its ring-bell was completed in 1902.[1] In 1998 it was reconstructed and some of the stones used was taken from the site of medieval fortress of Gračanica.[1]
