Better than the Beatles
Better Than The Beatles: A Tribute to The Shaggs is a tribute album consisting of cover versions of songs by The Shaggs. Material from both of their albums, Philosophy of the World and Shaggs' Own Thing, was included; two songs, "Philosophy of the World" and "You're Something Special to Me," appear twice on the album, recorded by different artists. The title comes from a quote from a headline by Lester Bangs[1] that stated that the band was "better than The Beatles".[2]
