Chiribiquete emerald

The Chiribiquete emerald (Chlorostilbon olivaresi) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is endemic to southern Colombia.

Chlorostilbon olivaresi was named after Fr. Antonio Olivares as a way to honor his contributions to Colombian ornithology and his persisting effort in building a bird collection for the Instituto de Ciencias Natural of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.[3]

The most important source of nectar for C. olivares is the low shrub Decagonocarpus cornutus.[4]
