Citheronia laocoon

Citheronia laocoon is a species of moth in the family Saturniidae. It is found from the Guianas south to northern Argentina.[2]

Females are yellowish black.[3] Males have a bold yellow stripe that narrows as it runs toward the trailing edge of the forewing.

The larvae feed on Prunus (including Prunus larocerasus) and Ligustrum ovalifolium.[4] They are green with red.
