Ranchi–Kamakhya Express is an Express train of the Indian Railways connecting Ranchi Junction in Jharkhand and Kamakhya Junction in Assam. It is currently being operated with 15661/15662 train numbers on twice in week basis.[1][2] The train passes through Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam.

Traction

As the route is yet to be fully electrified, it is hauled by an Asansol Electric Loco Shed-based WAG-5 or Howrah Electric Loco Shed-based WAP-4 from Ranchi up to Durgapur, handing over to an Andal Diesel Loco Shed-based WDM-3A locomotive for the remainder of the journey until Kamakhya.
