Claudio Orrego
Claudio Benjamín Orrego Larraín (born 20 December 1966) is a Chilean lawyer, Christian Democrat politician, and, since 14 July 2021, the governor of the Santiago Metropolitan Region.

Orrego is a former minister of President Ricardo Lagos Escobar, and former mayor of the commune of Peñalolén. He was a candidate for president of Chile in 2013, but lost the primary election to Michelle Bachelet, among other candidates.[1][2] On 11 March 2014 he was designated intendant of the Santiago Metropolitan Region by President Bachelet.[3] On 13 June 2021, he was elected governor of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, a newly created office.[4]
