Footsteps (Steve Lawrence song)
"Footsteps" is a hit single by American singer and actor Steve Lawrence, recorded in January 1960 and released in the spring of 1960 through ABC-Paramount Records in the US and via the HMV label in the UK. The song was written by Barry Mann and Hank Hunter.[2] Lawrence's single features Lawrence's wife, Eydie Gormé, as a backing vocalist and Don Costa's Orchestra and chorus. It spent 13 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 7 on April 4, 1960,[3] while reaching No. 4 the UK's Record Retailer chart,[4][5] No. 3 Canada's CHUM Hit Parade,[6] and No. 9 on Norway's VG-lista.[7] It was also a hit for Ronnie Carroll in 1960 in the UK and later for Showaddywaddy.
