Kia K8

The Kia K8 is a full-size sedan manufactured by Kia. Replacing the K7/Cadenza, it was released in April 2021 in South Korea.[2][3]

Overview

The K8 was released on 8 April 2021 with an online launch, after pictures were released in advance on 17 February 2021. The vehicle is designed with Kia’s new design philosophy “Opposites United”.[4][5]

The K8’s interior was said to be inspired by a first-class lounge.[6] A panoramic curved display and 12-inch head-up displays are designed to create a driver-centered layout along with an intuitively designed infotainment and HVAC systems. Other convenient features include ambient lighting synched with a navigation system, the driver's ergo motion seat, multi-function center armrest and high-end headrest.[7]

Unlike its predecessor and like the mechanically identical sixth-generation Hyundai Grandeur/Azera twin, the vehicle will not be available in the North American market.[8]

K8 Hybrid

Kia K8 Hybrid was released on 4 May 2021, offering a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid engine in addition to the conventional engine, 17-inch machined-face wheels, an emblem that indicates the vehicle is electric and a dedicated cluster graphic.[9]

Powertrain

The K8 will be offered with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 300 PS (296 hp; 221 kW), or the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 198 PS (195 hp; 146 kW). An optional 3.5-liter LPI (Liquid Propane Injection) engine will be offered with that makes 240 PS (237 hp; 177 kW). It is paired with a 8-speed automatic transmission which is claimed to improve the V6 engines’ fuel economy by up to 6 percent.
