Soweto Panthers
Soweto Panthers is a South African basketball club based in Soweto in Johannesburg. The team plays in the Basketball National League (BNL).[1] The team, which was founded in 1986, has won the BNL championship in 2009 and 2018.

The Soweto Panthers joined the BNL in 2011.[2]
In October 2018, the Panthers beat Egoli Magic 84-58 and captured the championship.[2]
The Panthers were led by head coach Steven Butler and general manager Elvis Ukpong. For both Bedfordview natives, it was the first year leading the club.[2]
Besides running a senior team, the Panthers engage in youth development programs countrywide.[2]
