Early life
Kleemann played club soccer with Real So Cal until 2017.[1] He was also two-year letter winner at Newbury Park High School, helping the team to a state final after a 12-0 season. With the Real So Cal academy, he made the Elite 8 in the national playoffs. Outside of soccer, in 2012 he finished No. 12 in the nation for the 800 meter dash.[2]
In 2017, Kleemann attended the University of Washington to play college soccer. Kleemann went on to make 28 appearances for the Huskies, scoring a single goal and tallying a single assist. He was named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in 2019. He missed his entire freshman season due to injury and the Pac-12 Conference season was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]
In 2019, Kleemann also spent the summer playing in the USL League Two for Ventura County Fusion, making a single appearance for the club.[4]
