Solenodon (genus)
Solenodon is a genus of mammal, one of only two in the family Solenodontidae. According to the American Society of Mammalogists, it includes 3 species known to have existed in recent times, of which only one (the Hispaniolan solenodon, Solenodon paradoxus) is extant.[2]
